The early stages! Tosach’s head, hands, and feet were all hand sculpted with oven-hardening clay. The whole model is scaled around the eyes, the only part of Tosach I didn’t build myself. They’re made of glass and were intended for doll-making. I saved them from a fate of staring back at the adoring eyes of a child and shoved them into the vacant skull of an oafish wizard.

Baby’s first steps! Tosach’s skeleton is cobbled together with scraps of armatures leftover from my university days. He was then swaddled in foam to fatten him up and had his other features attached. His hands and feet screw into the armature and his moustache and eyebrows stick on with magnets, allowing me to pivot and move them for animation.
